Entering and Exiting Build Mode

Stand on your owned plot and activate build mode from the boundary prompt or plot menu. Exiting build mode saves placed items to your plot state. Other players with permission may co-build depending on plot privacy settings configured through the phone UI.

Core Build Tools

The build toolbar provides select, place, move, delete, and rotate modes. Catalog browsing filters by structure, furniture, decor, and landscaping categories. Click or tap an item to purchase and place if you have sufficient Blockbucks — prices display before confirmation.

Grid snap aligns pieces to standard tile increments. Toggle grid behavior when fine adjustments fail — off-grid placement causes gaps unless you use Advanced Placing to nudge pieces back into alignment. Structural items snap more aggressively than thin decor.

• Rotate — Spin pieces before placement confirmation.

Advanced Placing Gamepass Controls

Advanced Placing unlocks precision movement unavailable to free builders. On PC, arrow keys or assigned nudge keys shift items in small increments. Rotation increments become finer for aligning decor flush to walls. Mobile pass holders get touch nudge buttons on the build UI.

The pass does not add new catalog items — only control precision. Serious builders consider it mandatory; budget builders can compensate with symmetric designs and our no gamepass building hacks guide.

Workflow Best Practices

Build shell first: foundation, walls, roof. Furnish interior second. Landscape last so paths follow final door positions. Duplicate symmetric wing layouts by mirroring room dimensions rather than re-measuring grid counts.

If placement fights you, change camera height and angle before forcing off-grid snaps. Delete-test-replace is expensive — prototype one room corner before scaling patterns across the full house.

Multi-Floor and Basement Notes

Multiple Floors gamepass unlocks second-story construction and stairwell openings. Plan stair placement before roofing the ground floor — moving stairs later often requires deleting large roof sections. Basements and underground levels may require additional passes or specific build setups depending on your account and current catalog — verify in-game before budgeting a mega-project.

Without Multiple Floors, simulate height using raised platforms and split-level foundations documented in our no gamepass building hacks guide. Build mode controls are identical on each level once unlocked — the challenge is vertical planning, not new buttons.

Troubleshooting Common Build Issues

Items refusing placement usually mean insufficient Blockbucks, plot boundary violation, or collision with invisible geometry from deleted pieces. Exit and re-enter build mode to refresh state before rebuying duplicates. Roof gaps almost always trace back to off-grid foundations — delete the affected floor row and relay on clean snap lines.

Mobile builders who mis-tap frequently should zoom until one wall segment fills the screen before confirming. PC builders with Advanced Placing should nudge one axis at a time rather than diagonal micro-moves that feel stuck until rotation is reset.
